Three screens around the dinner. Amber on the columns outside.
The winter gala was Vermont Vice. The exhibition and closed-bid auction sat beside the party — art about vice in Vermont — and the silent auction lived on Givergy: trips, dining, and goods from regional businesses. Dinner was three courses by Pangaea in the Ada and Paul Paresky Court. Silverback Swing played. Tickets ran from $100 to $5,000.
The screens had to carry both the lots and the pictures. Three 75-inch monitors on rolling stands sat around the dining floor. A switcher took a main laptop and a backup, and an SDI split sent the same image to every screen, so a guest at the far table saw the same lot as the one by the door. Fourteen wireless uplights washed the court. Four more lit the columns outside, in the snow.
We ran playback through the program and the live auction, working with the museum’s existing sound and the other partners in the room, then struck after nine.
