Opening New Doors. The wing was still in wrap, so we lit it.
On Saturday, October 3, 2026, Maple Street School held Opening New Doors, an auction and dinner for the capital campaign. Guests came for cocktails, a gourmet dinner, a live auction, and dancing with FunkEvolution. The new wing was still in wrap, so we put four ellipsoidals and eight PARs on the build and let people walk the site after dark. Two 75-inch monitors on rolling stands played a slideshow we helped put together, the renderings of what those walls become.
A third 75-inch in the foyer looped the students. Eric Nathan ran the auction, and we advanced the slides with his cadence, using Perfect Cue, a Blackmagic switcher, and two laptops in Hunter Hall, so the lots moved with him instead of ahead of him. The program also included speeches and a student-produced Day in the Life, with dolly shots, voiceovers, and the school as the kids see it.
Sabrina Dommenge led the design team and the vision for the night. We followed that look with purple uplights through the hallways, cued from a programming laptop. Walk-in stayed purple, dinner and speeches in Hunter Hall moved to a warm 2300K, and when FunkEvolution started the room went to purple sparkle. After the dancing we moved fixtures to the front of the school so the drapes read from the drive.
