The lots on one screen. The kids reciting the mission on the others.
On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, Northshire Day School held its third annual Harvest Moon Gala at the Celebration Barn. The theme was Rooted in Love, Growing in Community, and the night raised $63,000. Our job was to put the school on the walls. A dedicated 75-inch and laptop carried the silent auction lots. Two more screens showed student work and a video of the kids reciting the mission statement, and the room actually watched it.
We set three 75-inch monitors on rolling stands, with a Blackmagic switcher, two program laptops, and a backup. Four 12-inch speakers and a Yamaha DM3 covered the room. Eighteen uplights went around the barn, and two ellipsoidals hit the Northwoods Jazz Trio. Wireless handhelds covered the program and the cash call. Lea Davison, a two-time Olympian and an NDS parent, gave the keynote, and Meghan Sawtelle ran the ask with her. Haystack Catering did dinner. We stayed on the cues so none of that waited on a screen.
